Hi.
I'm looking for free hosting with no adds, with around:
space:150/250 mb
transfer:5/10 gb
ftp pops etc:3/10
I have seen lots that give you like 1 gb, and unmeatered transfer, but there all slow!
i really need one soon, so any links would be grate.

You're not going to get that free. I considered offering you a corner of one of our servers, but I really don't have that much spare. Your best bet would be to talk to the people over at http://nitefire.no-ip.com/ but I'll bet even they can't do it free. What do you want with all those pop accounts?

Well ok, perhaps ftp/pops were over the top, usually, i'd use something like 100webspace or 50 megs, both of wich are fairly slow, but this website is going to have lots of sound, and i'd like it if there were no adds.

What's the site on? Again, talk to nitefire and see what they can do. If they can't help you, why not run your own web server? Do you have an always on connection and an extra computer? If so, or even if you almost never reboot your machine, contact me privatly and I will help you set up a web server on your connection. All the software you'll need is free, and you can even get a free dns address from afraid.org.

Hi, and thanks for all the idears.
In responce to the poast above, i was clearing some stuff out, and found lodes of old pc parts and a few 4/3/286's, and thought it would be good to make a sort of History of Computers site.
I thought that all you'd have to do is lode the site, and then you wouldn't have to do anything else, there'd be pictures, and wav's for speech.
And also, i did briefly try no-ip.com, but i don't think my connection is fast enough? 150k? if you think it is, then i'm willing to give afraid.org a try.
Thanks again for all the idears, ben.

It's best if you run your own web server. How many users at a time do you expect to have on the site? If you're gonna have thousands, then 150K isn't good enough. If you run your own web server, you don't have to worry about space limitations or ads; you'll have whatever hard drive space space is free to use for your web files.
